We have found that the electric toothbrush is 'more fun' and in turn makes brushing his teeth easier and more exciting to do. Be sure to check with your pediatric dentist as far as which toothpaste to go with. He just recently mastered rinsing his mouth out and spitting so we switched to a fluoridated toothpaste v. brushing his teeth with the rinse after the toothpaste brushing. He has seen the dentist 3 times; 1 year, 1.5 years, 2 years We have gone from holding him almost completely upside down in order to get him to open his mouth to where we are today... "say ahhhhh" -He used to HATE getting his teeth brushed!!- IT HAS BEEN A LONG ROAD TO GET HERE! We brush morning and night Seems like we Are rough/fast but every tooth is getting perfectly clean (he was at the dentist most recently last month) and he doesn't complain! He rinses and spits with water He has been to the dentist 3 times now. For tips, help and suggestions I would highly recommend seeing and speaking with your child's dentist about help, advice, etc. as every child and situation is different. If you're curious he does great at the dentist and each time gets better and better. I personally think that it is important to start them early (12 months-teeth or no teeth) - I did a video on this about a year ago.
